GENERAL CARE:

A light braid, wrap or low ponytail is recommended for sleeping, swimming, athletics or any activities alike.  Low heat (180 degrees Fahrenheit), loose curls, light braids, and utilizing the natural wave pattern are the preferred methods of styling.  Regularly brush through your hair and the extensions using a natural boar brush.  Any styles that would cause the tape tab to be over directed or pulled away from the natural growth pattern should be avoided to ensure a damage-free extension life.  With proper care and maintenance, your client will enjoy 4-8 weeks of damage-free wearable extensions depending on The Tape.  SDX. Tape In Hair Extensions can be removed and replaced as often as needed.

SHAMPOO / CONDITION:

SDX. Tape In Hair Extensions should be shampooed using the pads of your fingers in an interlocking motion between the extensions.   Apply additional shampoo as needed throughout the mid-shafts and ends, squeezing the extensions, not rubbing together.  Rinse thoroughly with warm water.  Conditioner can be applied to the mid-shaft and ends.  Do not apply conditioner to the tape tabs to avoid slippage.  Rinse thoroughly with warm water.  Repeat as needed.

CONDITIONING MASQUES / BOND BUILDERS:

Conditioning Masques, deep treatments can be used only if applied two inches away from the tape tab.  "Bond Builders", "End Menders', "Fiber Wraps", or any "Keratin" product alike should not be used on SDX. Tape In Hair Extensions.  These products leave a gummy residual buildup that causes damage to the extension hair.

STYLE:

Apply a leave-in conditioner to the extensions mid-shafts and ends, avoiding the tape tab.  Part the hair horizontally and gently release the hair with a de-tangling boar brush.  Apply additional product for the desired result avoiding the extension tape tab.  Blow dry the hair with your fingers until the hair is approximately 75% dry.  Section your hair and style using a wide tooth wooden paddle or round board brush.  Excessive use of tension is not necessary and not recommended.  If hot tools are used, the recommended temperature setting is at or under 200 degrees Fahrenheit.  Always use a heat protecting product to ensure the longevity of the extension.

COLORING:

SDX. Tape In Hair Extensions come in a wide variety to seamlessly match any desired color.  We do not recommend coloring the extensions in manner including depositing shampoos, as they contain chemicals that can damage the extension. However, should you choose to do so, please perform a test using demi or Semi color only with no peroxide.

REUSING THE HAIR:

SDX. Tape In Hair Extensions is priced with the affordability and freedom to enjoy new hair at every installation.  Forget the hassle of removing and reinstalling the same old hair.  Instead, enjoy fresh new hair for virtually the same price as removing and replacing the old hair.  SDX. Tape in Hair Extensions is collected from 100% Natural Remy Human Hair Donors.  We do no use synthetic or animal product blends.

SKIN TESTING / ALLERGIES:

Similar to hair color and other salon chemicals, we always recommend doing a patch test with any new product including SDX.'s products (tape tabs, hair, remover spray).  Although medical grade adhesives are used, it is always best to perform patch tests.

PERFORMING A PATCH TEST FOR TAPE IN HAIR EXTENSIONS TAPE:

The patch test is used to ensure the user of any product does not have a negative reaction to a particular tape or adhesive.

  1. Place a small amount of adhesive/tape on an area of sensitive skin.
  2. Put a band-aid over the adhesive/tape and let it sit overnight.
  3. Remove the band-aid the following day (at least 24 hours) and check for any reaction.

If there is any redness or irritation, do not use the product.  Also, check to make sure the bond didn't release from the skin.  If no irritation occurred and the bond was secure, you can use the product with confidence.
